Support the University

Alumni play a vital role in creating a sustainable University.

Founded with a generous gift from Walter Hughes, the University has a proud history of philanthropy that continues to this day. We are grateful for the ongoing support of our alumni and friends, who generously give to scholarships, prizes, research and endowment funds at the University.

From a gift in your will, to a donation to our annual appeals, your support has real impact. You are changing the lives of our students, and helping us tackle the global challenges facing our communities today. Our alumni are a unique and highly valued part of our community, and we welcome and celebrate your support.

Impact of giving

Our crowd steps up for families of Rajasthan

Thanks to the generous response of our University community, more than 1,000 families in India’s north-west will have the capacity to maintain a reliable supply of drinking water.

A life, and a love, remembered

Nothing can replace the loss of someone dear to us. For Graham Smith, establishing a scholarship for in the name of his late partner, Rosa Samuels, is a fitting way to honour her memory.

Giving back

Alastair McEwin was born deaf. He was also, it seems, born to lead. His personal success has only increased his desire to share the inspiring sense of support he felt as a scholarship recipient.

Recognising our donors

For almost 145 years, our generous community of supporters has provided crucial funding, which has transformed the University, our research, and the lives of students.

Gift secures renowned visiting professorship

Dr Lee's generous bequest, now endowed, will generate sufficient ongoing income to fund the Milton Sims Visiting Professorship annually. It will also support ongoing biological research.
